Mo Lea takes commissions for creatures great and small, from native wildlife to pets, all made with the same love and care.
Mo’s appreciation of animals shows in her sensitive drawings and paintings. She researches the anatomy of the animals she represents and, for Mo, the physical act of stroking a dog’s head or holding a bird in her hands informs her understanding. This experience is considered in her illustrations applying tone and colour first with light and dark contributing to the initial drawing.
This is followed be exacting detail across all surfaces, an essential element of her work, before a final examination completes the process. Adding a final small dot of white paint, brings the animals eyes to life.
