The Artist
Often viewing the world from the perspective of an archaeological illustrator, attention to detail is integral to Mo’s drawing and painting process. Whether it’s a bird in flight, a much-loved pet dog or cat or a wild animal Mo approaches the studies in the same way. Using deep examination of the subject both visually, and when possible, using touch Mo’s sensitive portraits represent their subjects as honestly and truthfully as possible.
The animals are deliberately contained in isolation and devoid of context to embrace their beauty and purity.
In addition to Mo’s personal practice she has extensive experience in teaching Art and Design up to Masters level in the UK, USA, Malaysia and in the South Pacific.
She taught a range of skills including Drawing, Printmaking, Painting, Textiles, Art History and Contextual studies, Photography and Dark Room before retiring from her post as Senior Lecturer in Art and Design at the University of Bedfordshire.
